Having been home from Mexico for a little over two weeks, I’m of course thinking about where I’ll go next. If you haven’t figured out where I’m going yet, you must not have read the title of this post. Thanks for paying attention!
Yes, it’s back to LA I go – one of the rare times I’m going there outside of my annual Doctor Who sojourn! In fact, outside of a work trip that took me near(ish) to there several years ago, I’ve never been LA for anything other than a Doctor Who convention. So what’s taking me there in April? Scott! Specifically, he has a work trip to Anaheim, so I’m going to tag along. Since he’ll be busy with work stuff the first couple of days, I’m just going to work remotely from there, but then we’ll have a couple of days to see some sights and explore a bit. In the 13 years I’ve been going to LA for conventions, I’ve managed to sneak in a few fun things (Santa Monica Pier, a few beaches, the Griffith Observatory, the Huntington, Universal Studios, etc.), but I’m sure there are lots of other things we could see and do. So…

The only two things we’ve got planned are a Price is Right taping and dinner at Sur in West Hollywood. Going to The Price is Right is something I have ALWAYS wanted to do, ever since I was a kid, so I’m very excited for that. Although I’ve heard stories of people having to show up at 5a to get in line, we booked early enough to get priority tickets, which apparently means we’re guaranteed to get into our taping. Of course, the “COME ON DOWN!” part is totally up to chance, but we’ll be sure to be extra smiley and upbeat while we’re waiting to go in (I’m told that helps!) and hope for the best. Send good vibes our way! Even if we don’t end up on stage, it will still be a fun, bucket list item to do.
So what else can we do? Where should we eat? What hidden gems should we visit? We’ll be staying in Anaheim the first couple of days, but then we’re switching to an Airbnb apartment in West Hollywood for the rest of the trip. We’ll have a rental car, so getting around will be easy (as easy as traffic allows, that is). I look forward to your input!
Don’t think this is my only upcoming trip though – NYC, Las Vegas, and Europe are all already lined up for 2015 as well. More on them soon!
