Another trip to London is over, Labor Day has come and gone, and the daily grind of work is back in effect. How goes the time go by so quickly?? I guess trips like this can’t really be considered “vacations” unless there’s something to get away from though, right? And, as I said before, ending one trip just gets me thinking about the next one anyway. Onwards!
Overall, this London trip was great. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect – lots of sun every day, not a drop of rain until the day we flew home, and almost a little too warm (especially for someone like me, whose body is definitely wired for cold weather). Despite having been to the UK many times before, I stayed in a new-to-me part of London and got to see some stuff I’d never seen before (Cambridge, Borough Market, and Kew Gardens were the standouts), all while getting that London vibe I love so much. It was the perfect time to get away, transitioning us out of summer and into an autumn state of mind (though it was a little weird to visit in late August this year, after getting used to visiting mostly in late November the last 3-4 years).
What’s next on the list? We shall see! I may still be going to Chicago in November for my annual trip there to attend Chicago TARDIS, but that’s not set in stone yet. The last couple of years, Scott and I have visited New York City in December, but that’s not set in stone either. Rest assured though, there will be more travel to come soon. π
For now, enjoy a look at another new-to-me country – Greenland! Obviously seeing it from 35,000 feet isn’t quite the same as seeing it up close and personal, but we did get some pretty amazing views from the flight home last week.
