The Road to Wausau

I’m a little bit late on this, but I wanted to let you, my loyal blog followers (you know, all 100 or so of you), know about my recent road trip to exciting Wausau, WI. It was a great weekend with Scott, Nicole, Josh, and Nick! We didn’t have any definite plans – just a relaxing weekend. And that’s what we got! Here’s some of the magic we experienced:

-Fish fry at a local bar
-$3 vodka/Red Bulls!
-The one gay bar in Wausau
-Pizza fries
-Catchphrase
-Cribbage
-Various shenanigans

In other words, a great weekend! For me, road trips are always more fun when other people are in the car and that held true here. The drive is a little over 2.5 hours, but the time flew by pretty quickly both ways. All of us on the road trip are also part of the Mexico trip (you know, the one we’re going on THIS WEEKEND!), so we definitely spent some time dreaming of that, especially given the endless winter we’ve had this year.

Next trip on deck – Mexico! Although Mother Nature is threatening us with more snow on Friday (the day we’re flying out), I’ve already decided we’re going to make it out of Minneapolis, come hell or high snow. Watch this space for updates!

  1. I hope the snow didn’t derail (or even delay) your travel plans, and that you got to a warm sunny beach right on schedule. Color me jealous! πŸ™‚

    1. Yep, no issues getting out of Minneapolis! We got up and to the airport earlier just in case the airport was slammed, but it was totally fine. Our plane left maybe 20-25 minutes late because we had to go through the deicing process, but that was the only delay we had!

      1. Wonderful! I’m very glad to hear it. I hope you are now enjoying drinks on a warm sunny beach! πŸ™‚
