Cancún, We Hardly Knew Ye – The End of Mexico 2014

If you’ve done multiple loads of laundry, picked up your dog from the sitter, and wished you had more/better food in the house, you may have just gotten back from a vacation! I know those are all things I’ve experienced in the last 24 hours, at least!

In case you haven’t already figured it out, we’re back from Mexico! We had a great time, but as always, it’s nice to come home from a trip and sleep in your own bed, eat your own food, and just start to return to reality. We really did have a great time on our last full day of the trip (Thursday) as we laid by the pool, swam in the ocean, and relaxed for one more day. And we had a fabulous evening of drinking, taking fun pictures, and having one last dinner at Moonlight, the Italian restaurant at the resort that was a favorite of ours throughout the stay (it definitely had the best service!). But of course, this trip like so many others before it, had to come to an end and before we knew it, it was Friday morning and we had to say adios to the Oasis Sens and Cancún.

But what would the end of a trip be without a nice photo montage? We’re collating all of our photos together so we can review them as a group, so here are some of my favorites from the photos I’ve seen so far:

The first picture I took on the trip, taken near one of the resort pools looking out at the Caribbean Sea.

The view I had looking up from my chair on our first full day. Much better than snow!

A view of our chairs featuring the towels designed for Target by our friend Nick. Read more about that here (Nick’s story is #3).

Just one of many pool pictures.

Selfie on our last night.

I’d say those photos are a nice summary of a great vacation! It was so nice to be disconnected (minus a little Facebook-checking and blog-writing) and relaxed with amazing friends in warm weather for a full week. If you’re considering a similiar trip, I highly recommend booking a Friday-Friday timeframe because you get an entire week and your trip is book-ended by weekends, so you have time to settle back in before heading back to work/life/reality. Now all I have to do is get ready for my forthcoming work trip to Philadelphia (look for a post on that soon) and figure out how to get these post-vacation pounds off (all-inclusive resorts are great and convenient, but you’ll likely find yourself a few pounds heavier when you get home!). I’ll also be posting a detailed review of the resort we stayed in, so watch for that soon. Oh, and we also need to talk about this year’s Europe trip. Lots more travel fun to be had in 2014!

  1. With your curls and your scruff, you look like a different person!

I’m curious to read your resort review. In the meantime, have a great trip to Philly!
