4.5 Months Later…

Okay, OKAY – I get it. Perhaps I shouldn’t have let 4.5 months (give or take a few days) pass since my last post, but in case you were wondering, we did indeed make it back from Palm Springs okay. Also in case you were wondering, we did soak up more sun on our last day there before heading back home. And while there’s been plenty more sun here in the Twin Cities this summer (too hot for me – ugh!), there has been a distinct lack of travel in my life since March! But I can never go TOO long before the travel bug starts biting again, so I’m excited to have made some travel new travel plans this week. Read on to get the details!

…dramatic pause…

Oh, you’re back! Well, here’s what’s on my travel horizon over the next several months:

  • October – London. I mean, is anyone surprised by this? I can never stay away from my favorite city for too long! After spending a week there in January, I’ve found myself missing it more than usual, so I’ll be taking another solo trip there. Look for more details on this one soon!
  • December – New York City. We were on a run of going to NYC for a couple of years, but we haven’t been there since December 2016, so we decided this December would be a great time to return! Although we’d love to see Mariah Carey’s Christmas show again, she hasn’t announced any NYC dates for December (she’s doing a bunch of Christmas shows in Europe just before we arrive), but we’re keeping our fingers crossed. If she doesn’t perform there, we’ll still amuse ourselves! And after a string of “meh” to “decent” Airbnb homes there, we’re planning on staying in a hotel this time, which will be a first for us.
  • February – Los Angeles. Again, another not-surprising trip, right? I’ll be heading there again for my favorite Doctor Who convention, Gallifrey One. I had a ton of fun on my most recent trip and I know the next one will be great, too. Admittedly though, I’ll have to work hard to find a side activity that will top the Batman ’66 exhibit I saw this year!
  • March – Gulf Coast. Last but not least (for this round of trips anyway) is our semi-regular trip to the Gulf Coast. We were last there in 2017 (and in 2015 before that), so we’re sticking to our every-other-year cadence. We always have a ton of fun staying on the beach with Scott’s parents and the timing is perfect for a spring break getaway, so I’m really looking forward to it!

So now I’ve got some good trips to look forward to! In addition to these, there’s the potential for a work trip or two as well, so watch this space for more updates.

Speaking of watching this space, I’m excited to unveil a fun new feature on my blog – Travel Throwbacks! I’ve been traveling for far longer than I’ve been writing this blog, so I’ve got lots of great pictures and fun memories of all those older trips. So I’m going to be digging out both photos and memories to periodically share in Travel Throwback posts, so be on the lookout for the first one to drop soon. I’ll be going alllll the way back to the beginning of my international travel for that post – over 15 years, in fact! I’m looking forward to revisiting these trips and I hope you’ll enjoy reading about them. Stay tuned!
